Alzheimer's disease amyloid plaque proteins of 16 kDa and 8 kDa have identical mole % amino acid contents. These two proteins

• a. cannot be separated by SDS PAGE gel electrophoresis.
• b. are similar, and the 16 kDa protein may be a dimer of the 8 kDa form.
• c. can be separated by isoelectric focusing.
• d.probably share no common amino acid sequences.
• e. should exhibit markedly different solubility properties.
